Momentum Energy Group is a European clean energy investment and services platform covering the full value chain from investment and development of projects to technical, operational, and commercial asset management as well as repowering, lifetime extension and decommissioning of clean energy projects.

As such, Momentum is aiming to build out its team and is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to support its ambitious growth plans.

Job Overview

You will be supporting the management team in building out an institutional-class strategic planning and M&A function that can effectively scale and support the ambitious investment and growth targets.

Corporate Development

You will be highly involved in developing the corporate strategy, business planning and development of the organization. This will include:
  • Contributing to the design of the corporate and investment strategy and the development of the business plan
  • Developing and executing on strategic value-add initiatives
  • Performing strategic analysis across the organization to unlock synergies and operational efficiencies
  • Managing the corporate financial model and all the project financial models across the organization
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process and monthly cash budgeting process
  • Supporting board reporting and monthly board calls, including strategic discussions with the board members, and coordinating reporting requirements from other teams

Investment Execution

You will work through the full lifecycle of investments, support the sourcing, valuation, transaction structuring, negotiations, and execution of investments. This will include:
  • Establishing relationships across the industry, sourcing and maintaining a pipeline of investment opportunities
  • Designing, leading, and coordinating internal/external due diligence workstreams, identifying optimization opportunities, as well as assessing key issues and mitigation strategies
  • Leading the valuation workstream, being able to perform financial modelling from scratch and assessing key value drivers
  • Energy market and regulatory framework assessment
  • Debt structuring and execution
  • Negotiating transaction documentation and commercial terms
  • Drafting investment memorandum, presenting, and managing internal board approvals

Asset Management and Project Development

You will also be working on post-acquisition integration, investment asset management, project development and divestments. This will include:
  • Working closely with operational, technical, and financial teams to integrate assets into the platform
  • Executing debt refinancing at the project/portfolio level and lender relationship management
  • Assessing and implementing various optimization opportunities across the portfolio
  • Assessing repowering/lifetime extension projects jointly with the development team and providing support from a financial analysis standpoint

The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will also work very closely with the Group Chairman and senior management team on a day-to-day basis, as well as directly with shareholder representatives.

Profile and Application

You will have:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience
  • Ideally within an investment, strategy consultancy, corporate finance, corporate development, M&A and/or due diligence context
  • Experience within the renewable energy sector is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to speak Danish and German will be a plus, but not required
  • Essential attributes include versatility, highly analytical, ability to learn very quickly, resourceful, thoughtful, curious, proactive, good commercial acumen, great communicator, strong leadership capabilities, knowledgeable in finance and accounting, excellent financial modelling skills
