Momentum Energy Group acquires Windturbs

Further strengthening its position on the Danish market.

With effect from 1/1 2023, Momentum Energy Group A/S (Momentum), has via its 100% owned subsidiary Momentum Energy Wind Services ApS, acquired all the shares in Windturbs ApS. Henceforth the company will continue under the name of Momentum.

With the acquisition comes 7 employees and 3 service vehicles and Momentum thereby significantly increases its presence within wind turbine service in Denmark. Momentum Energy Wind Services now employs more than 40 people, operates 15 service vehicles, and has spare parts warehouses and workshops throughout the country.

Momentum Energy Wind Services now undertakes technical services of more than 500 turbines in Denmark, which places the company among the market’s absolute largest and fastest growing in its field of service.

We have kept an interested eye on Windturbs for a while and we believe that the acquisition of the company will fit very well with Momentum's strategy of being the market leader within operation and repair of wind turbines. At the same time, it is our stated objective to offer countrywide technical services to both our own and our customers' wind turbines. We want our services to be executed quickly, efficiently, and competitively in terms of local presence and extensive experience. In a time of troubled electricity markets and high energy prices, it is of vital importance that we can reach the turbines as quickly as possible to maximize uptime. For the same reason, we have established a 24/7/365 surveillance centre and the acquisition of Windturbs ApS is in all levels a perfect fit for us. We warmly welcome the new colleagues and customers, and we look forward to working with them and to make an even bigger difference in the green transition!”

Kim Madsen, CEO
The former owner of Windturbs ApS, Director & Service Manager, Rene Nielsson, also states:

“We are extremely proud to have built Windturbs ApS from the ground during the last 12 years. Along the way we have been awarded with the Børsen Gazelle prize and we have provided technical services to offshore wind turbines in collaboration with fine companies such as Ørsted/Dong and EON. We know Momentum really well and when they knocked on the door and asked if we wanted to sell our life's work, we felt that the timing might be right. If a service company like Windturbs is to grow in the future, it is important that a little more muscle and a broader organization is added. Momentum was the right solution for us because they can offer exactly that. At the same time, we ensure that our loyal employees and customers are taken care of in the best possible way, now and in the future”

Rene Nielsson, Windturbs ApS
