As there are challenges with lack of wind and water in the summer months, solar is also expected to play a large role in the future.

Having two decades of experience with operation of wind turbines, the last year’s also solar plants, we had informal discussions about eventual future cooperation between Momentum and SEV.

“With an average wind speed of >10 m/s per year in the area, and the very green political ambition for the Faroe Islands to be fossil free by 2030, these islands are a very interesting market for Momentum. We are investigating how to take part and best support the green development of the Faroe Islands, and the parties will meet soon to share experiences and discuss future possibilities for cooperation. A focus point will be how Momentum can create value to owners of clean energy solutions during both the development and administration of the assets in an optimal manner.”
